2 tablespoons of neutral oil
250g of chicken mince
1/2 napa cabbage – chopped
2 tablespoons of minced garlic and ginger
3 tablespoons of gochujang
1 tsp of soya sauce
Handful of Thai basil
Coriander leaves to garnish
Directions
- Start by browning the chicken mince in a wok with hot oil
- Add the ginger garlic paste and remove from the pan.
- Sauté the chopped-up cabbage for a few minutes till slightly charred and add back the chicken
- Add the gochujang paste and soya sauce taste, and if it requires some salt you can add it
- Stir well and add chopped-up coriander leaves and basil leaves
- Serve with sticky rice or steamed rice and enjoy!
Notes
- The taste of gochujang differs from brand to brand so the quantities may need to be adjusted to balance the flavours. Please taste at every step and season accordingly. If you have a very pungent jar you can also add some honey to sweeten it out
- I find this best served with sticky rice to get the best bite but any rice works
